  2. InterActive supported software scheme                         1st July 1996

  4. About the scheme
  5. ----------------
  6. The supported Shareware scheme was started by Joe Connor in 1993 to 
  7. encourage authors to produce and support English language versions of 
  8. their software AND to encourage UK users to register 'foreign' software. 
  9. Recently the scheme was re-launched as InterActive. With currently over 
  10. 1500 registrations the scheme has established the proven benefits of local 
  11. support, which include:
  12.  
  13. - Key to remove features reserved for registered users available
  14. - Local telephone, post and Email support
  15. - Free update service
  16. - No hassle handling foreign currency
  17. - Labelled Master disk and registration letter
  18. - ST-Guide on-line hypertext help (some software)
  19. - Other software (dependent on disk space)
  20.  
  21. Registration fees are set to cover the currency handling, stationary, 
  22. media and postage costs incurred in mailing out master disks and providing 
  23. support.
  24. Although primarily a UK support scheme everyone is welcome to register via 
  25. InterActive as an alternative to registering directly with the author/s.

  77. How to register from inside the UK
  78. ----------------------------------
  79. 1) Use the included ORDER_FM.TXT to select the required software
  80. 2) Make sure your name and address is included and *legible*!
  81. 3) Make cheques/POs payable to InterActive for the total amount
  82. 4) Send the completed order form and payment to InterActive
  83.  
  84. Additionally from outside the UK
  85. --------------------------------
  86. - Add £1 to your order total to cover postage
  87. - Make certain payment is *in Sterling* drawn on a *UK* bank address
  88.   The following methods are known to work:
  89.   -Bank draft/cheque
  90.   -Eurocheque
  91.   -International Post Office cheque payable *in Sterling*
  92.   -Cash! Sterling, Dollars and DMs are fine -but at your own risk!

  94. Country specific information
  95. ----------------------------
  96. Canada:    Canadian Post Office money orders made out in *Sterling* are 
  97.            perfect!
  98. France:    For some reason I'm getting a number of local cheques (i.e. 
  99.            written in Sterling but drawn on a french bank address.
  100.            I can accept these but they cost £5 to negoiate so you must add 
  101.            an extra £5 to your order total.
  102. Europe:    In general Post Office money orders are the best way to pay.
  103. Australia: Thanks for all the pretty plastic Aussie dollars guys -but I'd 
  104.            rather have Sterling! Visit your Post Office and get a money 
  105.            order made out in *Sterling*.
  106. USA:       What a nightmare! Can I suggest a day trip to a Canadian post 
  107.            office? I've seen it all, Amex travellers cheques (add £5 to 
  108.            order total), local cheques (no can do), cash (fine -but at 
  109.            your own risk). There's currently no sensible solution.

  134. Due to the number of people taking advantage of the service I can't always 
  135. reply as quickly as I'd like to. Often I'm waiting for a new version or 
  136. simply too busy earning a living so please be patient!

  159. archives but because minor updates to the English language version are
